India: Packaged food firms may need to disclose salt/sugar levels on packaging

According to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, packaged food companies may need to disclose nutritional information pertaining to the levels of sodium, sugar, and salt on their packaging of their food products on mandatory basis. The revelation is made following the proposal to revise India's food labelling laws for a more stringent nutritional information disclosure regulation. A draft related to the proposal would be prepared within a month.
